In the last list of the top Chess players we published, we went over the best Norwegian Chess players. Now in this article, we’re ranking the best Iranian Chess players from Iran, starting with the number ten spot in FIDE.

Among the tournaments he has played in include; Caissa Hotel Rugzar Gp A, Caissa Hotel Yagmur GpA, Caissa Hotel Liman GpA, and Caissa Hotel Asli GpA , all of which he played in 2022.

Sarasadat earned the International Master title in 2015. FIDE also had awarded her with Woman Grandmaster title in 2013, Woman International Master in 2011, and Woman FIDE Master in 2008. She has a peak rating of 2494. In 2015, she triumphed in the Iranian women’s tournament, and in 2015- 2016, she was passed in the qualifications for the FIDE women’s Grand Prix.

8. Amirreza Pourramezanali

Full name: Amirreza Pourramezanali
Title: Grandmaster
Born: September 23rd, 1992

Amirreza became a grandmaster in 2016. Before that, he had earned the International Master title in 2014, and the FIDE Master title in 2010. He has won bronze medals in different chess tournaments including; the under 18 Asian Youth tournaments, the world chess university tournament in 2016, and the Asian National cup. He is also a silver medalist in the Asian Youth tournament, Iranian blitz tournament 2015, and Poland Open 2008. In the under 14, 16, and 18 Iran youth tournament, he clinched a gold medal. In addition, he was the winner of the 2015 Ardebil International Blitz cup.

7. Shahin Lorparizangeneh

Full name: Shahin Lorparizangeneh
Title: Grandmaster
Born:  January 16th, 1999
Federation: Iran

Lorparizangeneh was awarded the grandmaster title in 2017, the International Master title in 2015, and the FIDE Master title in 2009. Also, he has been involved in a couple of tournaments which include; the 5th Mersin Open 2021, Orbis 2 GM 2019, Banovci Dunav Vidovdan Op 2019, and 3rd Sharjah Masters 2019.

6. Ehsan Ghaem Maghami

Born: August 11th, 1982
Federation: Iran

Ghaem Maghami earned the grandmaster title in 2001 and the International Master title in 2000. He has won a total of 13 titles in the Iranian chess tournament. He has a peak rating of 2519. He came first at the Kish GM championship in 2004. He is also a two times Iran rapid chess playmaker and a six times Iran blitz chess playmaker. Maghami has also clinched four medals in the world university chess championships and is a winner of forty-five international chess championships in various countries.

5. Seyed Khalil Mousavi

Born: April 20th, 1998
Federation: Iran

Khalil Mousavi earned the International Master title in 2015 and the FIDE Master title in 2013. He has won two gold medals in the under 16 world Olympiad and the other 12 medals in Asia. His best skills are tactic, middle game, and sacrifice. He has played a total of 275 games with 97 wins, 109 draws and69 losses. Among the tournaments he has played include Sheikh Russel GM 2021, ch-IRI 2021, Fuad Jafarov Mem Masters 2020, and 4th Paytakht cup 2019.

Born: July 26th, 2001

Pouya became a grandmaster in 2010, an International Master in 2011, and a FIDE Master in 2010. In 2013, he was victorious at the under 18 World chess tournament and played for his country in several chess Olympiads, which include 2014 and 2012. Among other several tournaments Pouya has won include; the 2018 Goa Open Tournament and the Iranian under 18 tournaments in 2011. He also came second in the 7th Dubai Junior chess tournament in 2008 and in the Under 14 Iranian tournament in 2009. He has a peak ranking of 2611 in addition to being number 286 in peak ranking.

Amin M. Tabatabaei became a grandmaster in 2018, International Master in 2015, FIDE Master in 2010, and a Candidate Master in 2009. He is number 100 in peak ranking with a peak rating of 2650. He was a runner-up at the Asian Chess tournament in 2018 and a winner of the Biel Masters in 2019. He took part in the 2022 FIDE Grand Prix in which he attained the sixth position overall in the championship.

Maghsoodloo earned both the FIDE grandmaster title and the International Master title in 2016, with a peak rating of 2706 and also a number three in peak ranking. He emerged as a world junior chess playmaker in 2008 and a winner of the Iranian national championship on three occasions. He was part of the participants who represented Iran in the 42nd chess Olympiad. In 2018, he triumphed the world junior chess tournament.
