Editorial Staff by Editorial Staff
in Chess Player Profiles, Chess Players

Timofeev Artyom was introduced to the world of chess at a very young age, and once he started playing there was no turning back to the little kid. Not only did he astound everybody by quickly developing such sharp skills that allowed him to outdo much senior players, but also his enthusiasm and sincerity could not be ignored. Serious training and practice sessions started, and as the world now knows, it resulted in making him one of the top players ever, securing him the title of a Grandmaster.

Timofeev Artyom was born on 6th of January, year 1985, in Russia. He plays for his country and has won a number of major tournaments that escalated his career as a chess player to new heights. One of the most important victories that contributed to his fame and recognition include the European Youth Chess Championship (which was for the under 18 players), held in year 2000. Five years later he added another great victory to his name, which was winning the under-20 Russian Championship. Later in the year 2008, he participated in the Moscow Open and performed brilliantly to win against worthy competitors.

All this landed Timofeev Artyom to achieve a 2651 FIDE rating, (with an 86th rank as on November 2009). His peak rating though his career has been 2677. Many more tournaments await this chess master and for him to exhibit his skills, while it is hoped that he would continue rising as like a star that the chess world has already recognized him as.
