In 2003, Sang Cao was accorded the title of Grandmaster and the International Master title in 1995 and licensed as a FIDE trainer in 2020. He’s had a Peak rating of 2558, with his current rating being 2401. Between 1992 and 2022, he played a total of 767 games, for which he won 277, lost 147, and drew 343 games, thus equaling a winning score of 53.0 percent. He played in notable tournaments like; Ch-VIE 2019, 9th HDBank International chess tournament 2019, Ch-VIE 2018, 8th HD Bank Cup International Open chess, and the Ch-VIE Masters 2017, among others.

8. Canh Huan Hoang

Full name: Canh Huan Hoang

Title: FIDE Master

Born: January 1, 1985

Federation: Vietnam

Canh Huan Hoang was presented with the FIDE Master title in 200. He played a total of 181 games from 1998 to 2019. In those games, Huan won 91, lost 48, and drew 42, thus equaling a percentage winning score of 61.88 percent. Some notable tournaments he has played include; the 9th HD Bank Cup 2019, 8th HD Bank Cup 2018, 7th HD Bank Cup, and 6th HD Bank Cup 2016.

In 2008, Vinh was granted the title of Grandmaster and the International Master title in 2002. In 2009, he reached a Peak rating of 2509. Vihn won the Vietnam chess championship in 2009. He also competed at the 2002 Bled Olympiad. In addition, he took part in the 8th Asian continental chess competition.

6. Huynh Minh Huy Nguyen

Huy Nguyen was crowned Grandmaster in 2014, the International Master title in 2008, and the FIDE Master title in 2003. He played a total of 684 games from 2000 to 2022. In those games, Nguyen won 245, lost 114, and drew 325, thus equaling a winning score of 59.58 percent. Among the notable tournaments he has participated in include; TCh-HUN 2021, Vezerkepzo GM Mix Sept 2021, FSGM August 2021, and 7th Vezerkepzo GM 2021.

5. Nguyen Anh Dung

Title: Grandmaster

Born: March 17, 1976

Federation: Vietnam

Anh Dung Nguyen was conferred with the title of Grandmaster in 2001 and the International Master title in 1993 and licensed as a FIDE trainer in 2008. He has a FIDE rating of 2462 and a Peak rating of 2567. In 2002 Nguyen made it to the 2nd round of the FIDE world chess tournament and went on to win gold at the Rapid chess South East Asian tournament in 2005. He has played a total of 975 games between 1990 and 2022. In those particular games, Nguyen has won 389, drawn 439, and lost 147, earning him a winning score of 62.41 percent.

4. Tran Minh Tran

Title: Grandmaster

Born: October 21, 1997

Tuan Minh Tran was granted the title of Grandmaster in 2017, the International Master in 2014, the FIDE Master title, and the candidate Master title in 2007. Between 2003 and 2022, Minh Tran has played 480 games in which he has won 198, drawn 150, and lost 132, hence giving him an average winning score of 56.88 percent. Latest tournaments he has participated in include; Hanoi GM 2022, 31st SEA Games Standard, Online Olym Top DivA 2020, and the World Blitz 2019.

3. Le Tuan Minh

Tuan Minh Le was accorded the title of International Master in 2015 and the FIDE master in 2010 from FIDE. He has a FIDE rating of 2527 and a Peak rating of 2517. Tuan participated in the Bullet chess tournament in 2021 and won the Vietnam chess tournament in 2020.

2. Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son

Full name: Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son

Title: Grandmaster

Born: February 23, 1990

Federation: Vietnam

In 2005, Son Nguyen was accorded the title of Grandmaster and the International Master title in 2002. He has a peak rating of 2665 and a FIDE rating of 2645. Nguyen made history by being the youngest Grandmaster to qualify for the award at 14 years. He became a gold medalist at the Under- 10 world junior tournament in 2000. Je clinched the Asian youth tournament on a tie break in 2006 in New Delhi. He represented his country at the 2014 chess olympiads in Norway, a competition he won an individual gold medal. He again became a gold medalist in the same event in 2018, held at Batumi, Georgia.

Le Quang Liem Le earned the title of Grandmaster in 2006, the International Master title, and the FIDE Master title in 2006 and 2003, respectively. He has a peak rating of 2739 and a FIDE rating of 2722. Quang still holds the Asian champion recognition and is a world Blitz conquerer in 2013. Since 2006, Quang has been an ever-present player for his country in the chess olympiads competition. In 2004, clinched a gold medal at the Asian Youth chess tournament and silver in the same competition. In 2005, Quang clinched the Under-14 World Youth chess tournament in France. Other tournaments he triumphed include; the 2009 Kolkata chess championship, the 1st Dragon Capital Vietnam Chess Open in 2008, and the 2010 Aeroflot Open.
