He continued with his chess career producing a remarkable result that made him qualify for an international master title. He was awarded the title in 2013 by FIDE, who later granted him a Grandmaster title in 2018. This made him become one of the top chess players in his country. Ferreira reached a peak rating of 2513 in October 2016, making him one of the best chess players to pass the Elo mark rating of 2500.
