Rey Enigma vs GothamChess

Rey met the popular chess YouTuber, Levy Rozman, known by his channel name GothamChess, in person to push some pawns with each other. This is the first game they played against each other. Rey performed well against the International Master, but resigned after move 31.

Rey Enigma vs Hikaru Nakamura

On December 18, 2021, Rey Enigma was challenged by Super Grandmaster and Chess Streamer, Hikaru Nakamura. Hikaru was discussing with his chat about what Rey’s Elo is likely to be based on looking at his games. Hikaru then just went to lichess and challenged Rey. This is one of the games they played where Rey found a draw line in the endgame. To make a draw with one of the best American chess players in history is quite the achievement.

Rey Enigma VS Anatoly Karpov – Spains Got Talent, Grand Final – 2021

On Spains Got Talent in 2021, Rey Enigma went on the show and for his final challenge, had to play against a mystery opponent, being a mystery himself, his opponent turned out to be former three time World Champion, Anatoly Karpov, who is also arguably the greatest defensive chess player of all time.

They played a blitz game of three minutes on the clock and Rey has the white pieces. Furthermore, if Rey loses to Karpov, he would have to reveal his identity. Since no one knows who Rey Enigma is, by design of course, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Fun Fact: This game actually broke a world record by having the most live viewers in a match in the history of chess.
